THE DECISION IN BRIEF
Our oil sprayer stops delivering when users tilt the bottle toward a target; should we request upside-down spraying?
Document the required orientation and tube behavior first. Evaluate candidate assemblies for that specific task instead of assuming a standard sprayer supports every angle.
Observe the angle the task requires
Watch the intended application and identify whether users tilt briefly, remain tilted or invert the bottle. Record fill state and where liquid sits relative to the inlet where visible. Avoid substituting the vague phrase all-angle for a specific use requirement.
Ask whether the same task could be performed with a different bottle position without awkward handling. That is a product-design question, not an excuse to dismiss normal use. The selected package should support the action described by the product instructions.
Compare controlled orientations
Use matching filled assemblies with the actual formula and a consistent actuation sequence. Compare the intended upright operation with the task orientation. Record the first interruption, recovery and any change in deposit.
- Record orientation in a photograph or clear diagram.
- Identify fill state and tube reference.
- Keep priming and recovery observations separate.
- Compare the normal task, not an arbitrary extreme angle.
Confirm the use boundary
If the problem follows a low fill state, include that observation in a pickup review. If it occurs at the intended fill state and orientation, ask the supplier whether another defined configuration should be sampled. Do not bend or redirect the tube informally and then order the original part number.
Select a capability supported by evidence
Aptar lists upside-down dispensing variants separately. Request a candidate against the documented angle and fill state rather than a broad orientation claim. Compare recovery after returning upright as well as performance while the bottle is held in the task position.
Request a candidate against the documented task and evaluate the complete bottle. A different tube arrangement may affect near-empty recovery or assembly, while a different mechanism needs its own formula review. If the requirement remains unresolved, keep it explicit in the project record instead of using broad artwork language that implies unrestricted orientation.
Check recovery after returning upright
Record whether normal delivery resumes when the bottle returns to its intended orientation and whether extra actions are needed. Recovery is a separate finding from performance while tilted. A candidate that recovers eventually may still fail the task requirement, so keep both observations in the selection discussion.
