THE DECISION IN BRIEF
We moved our oil sprayer to a taller bottle of the same capacity; can we retain the old tube and trial results?
Treat the taller bottle as a new assembly. Confirm its finish and tube arrangement, then compare startup, normal dispensing and low-fill behavior before carrying forward the configuration.
Identify what the redesign changed
Equal nominal capacity does not establish equal geometry. Compare the actual bottle references, including finish, shoulder, base and internal height where available. A tube selected for the earlier bottle should not be retained simply because it can be screwed onto the new one.
Record the formula and sprayer configuration intended to remain unchanged. This makes the bottle redesign the focus of the review and prevents unrelated component substitutions from entering the comparison.
Use the old assembly as a baseline
Prepare identified samples of both bottle combinations. Compare first use, established delivery, task orientation and near-empty behavior using the same method. Include handling with the filled bottle, since a taller shape may change how users reach the actuator.
If the new assembly differs during startup but works later, investigate that specific experience rather than declaring the whole pump incompatible. If low-fill delivery changes, review tube placement and bottle geometry with the suppliers. Keep each observation separate.
- Confirm the new bottle finish independently.
- Identify the proposed tube arrangement.
- Compare startup and established use.
- Observe the actual grip and application angle.
Approve a package-specific carryover
Aptar notes container shape and size among package-result variables. Compare the taller bottle as its own assembly and retain the earlier package as a reference. Ask whether any proposed tube or head change needs another identified sample before technical approval carries forward.
If the original sprayer can be retained, record the tube and bottle references that make the new assembly reproducible. If a different tube or actuator is selected, preserve it as a distinct configuration. Avoid using the old sample approval as a general permission for future bottle shapes. Carry forward only the evidence relevant to the redesigned package.
Review carton consequences
A taller bottle can alter protective clearance even when its capacity and sprayer remain familiar. Preserve the proposed secondary pack with the redesign review. If the head sits closer to another surface, the distribution arrangement may deserve a focused comparison alongside startup, pickup and user grip.
