OIL-RESISTANT SPRAYERS / BUYING GUIDE

Evaluate an Oil Sprayer Used With Customer Dilutions

Decide whether one dispenser can support the permitted mixed products.

THE DECISION IN BRIEF

Customers dilute our oil concentrate differently; what should the sprayer evaluation cover?

First define the dilutions the product instructions actually permit. Evaluate representative identified mixtures and keep unsupported customer experiments outside the approved use scope.

Establish the intended product boundary

A concentrate sold with defined mixing instructions creates a different packaging question from a ready-to-use oil. Ask the product owner to identify the permitted mixtures, preparation sequence and intended container. Do not invent a recommended dilution in the sprayer guide or let a supplier's demonstration determine the product instruction.

Record the material used to make each sample and its preparation history. A hand-labelled bottle marked diluted oil is insufficient when the team later needs to explain an inconsistent spray. If customer complaints involve mixtures outside the instructions, preserve those facts separately.

Compare the mixtures as complete packages

Select the comparison set with the formulation team. Use the bottle and sprayer intended for the mixed product, with controlled filling and assembly. Record initial delivery, normal application and restart after the intended standing period. Keep sample references linked to the mixture preparation record.

If a problem appears only with one permitted mixture, do not average its result with the others. Ask whether the formula, preparation instruction or dispenser configuration needs revision. If every mixture is inconsistent, check basic assembly and priming before concluding that concentration is the cause.

  • Identify the permitted mixture and preparation owner.
  • Label each prepared sample and date of preparation internally.
  • Keep bottle, tube and nozzle references fixed for comparison.
  • Record deviations from the intended mixing instruction.

Decide what one configuration can promise

Aptar separates oil and viscous-formula variants. Give the supplier each permitted mixture reference and its observed behavior, then ask whether one candidate should be compared across them. Keep a shared dispenser proposal separate from an assumption that every mixture is equivalent.

If one configuration supports the defined mixtures, record the evaluated scope. If separate dispensers are needed, consider whether users can distinguish them reliably. A broad compatibility statement may simplify a sales sheet but leave customers without a reproducible preparation and dispensing method.

If actual users prepare the permitted mixture inconsistently, record the deviation and its reason. The packaging decision may depend on clearer measurement or preparation instructions as well as the sprayer. Keep those observations separate from performance of correctly prepared samples so each technical owner has an actionable question.
