THE DECISION IN BRIEF
A customer asks for all-angle spraying. Can a flexible tube solve it?
Define the required orientations first. A flexible or weighted pickup is only one part of an assembly; do not assume it establishes inverted operation or shipping integrity.
Describe the difficult position
Ask for the task rather than the phrase 360 degree. Spraying upward beneath a surface, tilting sideways to reach a corner and fully inverting the bottle can place liquid at different pickup locations. Include the expected length of use in each position and the fill levels that matter.
A demonstration with a full bottle can be misleading because the inlet may stay immersed for a short time. Repeat at the intended lower fill range and observe the transition back to upright use.
Compare complete candidates
Request the supplier’s proposed configuration and any limitations. A different tube without the matching internal arrangement may not provide the intended function. Record the selected closure, pickup and nozzle instead of treating an accessory description as the whole specification.
Evaluate priming, interruption, recovery and leakage across the orientation sequence. Keep storage orientation separate from operating orientation. A dispenser that works briefly while inverted has not thereby passed an inverted-storage or distribution evaluation.
Write the claim after the trial
If only the angled task is needed, approve that defined task rather than a broader marketing claim. Give the sales and artwork teams the conditions that were actually evaluated. Keep evidence of any exceptions so customer instructions remain accurate.
Before ordering, ask the supplier to state any orientation restrictions in the quotation. If the customer task exceeds those restrictions, keep the alternative sample trial open. A successful upright demonstration should not accidentally become an all-angle promise.
