FINE MIST SPRAYERS / BUYING GUIDE

Create a Repeatable Spray Reference for Incoming Mist Lots

Make receiving comparisons reliable without recreating the entire development program.

THE DECISION IN BRIEF

Inspectors disagree about whether a spray looks correct. How should we standardize the check?

Use an identified approved configuration and a defined test liquid, target, actuation method, and observation condition, with clear escalation for ambiguous results.

State what the receiving screen detects

A quick spray comparison can identify certain gross differences, but it does not replace formula compatibility, storage, or transport qualification. Write the purpose before choosing the method. If a substitute liquid is used, document why it is suitable for that limited screen.

Keep an identified reference assembly and controlled acceptance evidence. An old opened bottle may have changed through use or evaporation and should not become the permanent master. Agree how reference material is stored, checked, and replaced.

Control the comparison conditions

Berlin Packaging’s quality resources distinguish multiple inspection and performance methods. Select a practical receiving method for the characteristic you intend to assess.

VariableWhat to define
Sample preparationAssembly, liquid, and conditioning
ActuationFull stroke, release, and sequence
ObservationTarget, distance, and viewing arrangement
DecisionDefect examples and escalation route

Reduce inspector-driven variation

Train observers using identified acceptable and unacceptable examples. Demonstrate the method rather than relying only on a written phrase such as fine and even. Keep initial startup separate from the stable spray stage if the method requires that distinction.

If inspectors disagree, compare their preparation and actuation before changing the acceptance standard. A different distance, partial press, or liquid condition can create an apparent component difference. Record ambiguous samples and send them for technical review instead of repeatedly spraying until they look satisfactory.

Agree sampling and lot disposition with the quality team before delivery. This article does not prescribe universal sample quantities or AQL values. Preserve the original failed result and lot identity when escalation is required.

Update the reference when an approved engine, insert, or formula-related screening method changes. Receiving should judge conformity to the current purchase specification, while development evidence remains linked to the final application. That division keeps inspection useful and proportionate without asking warehouse staff to infer performance from an impressive airborne plume.

KEEP THIS WITH THE SAMPLE

For your buying brief

  • Define the receiving screen’s purpose.
  • Control preparation and observation.
  • Escalate ambiguous results with sample identity.
