FINE MIST SPRAYERS / BUYING GUIDE

Set a Practical Shade Standard for Mist Assemblies

Approve color relationships across caps, actuators, and collars.

THE DECISION IN BRIEF

Each component matches its own sample, but the finished sprayer looks inconsistent. What should we buy against?

Approve the assembled color relationship under defined viewing conditions, with component references and an agreed permitted range for repeat lots.

Judge the assembled design

Different substrates and finishes can appear different even when described by the same color name. Place the cap, head, collar, bottle, and label together in their final relationship. Review side and top views under the agreed conditions rather than approving isolated parts independently.

O.Berk offers visualization and decoration development services. A rendering can support layout and color direction, while physical production-intent references are needed for the finish relationships that purchasing will inspect.

Define the visual comparison

Agree the method with the supplier and brand team. If instrumental color measurement is required, have the appropriate team define its method and use alongside the physical appearance review.

  • Identify the master assembly and component revisions.
  • State viewing conditions and relevant visible surfaces.
  • Record acceptable component-to-component differences.
  • Establish how borderline samples will be escalated.

Make production variation reviewable

A single perfect sample may not describe the acceptable range. Ask for appropriate limit references or another agreed method for judging variation. Keep metallic direction, gloss, texture, and substrate distinct from simple shade; a color number alone may not explain the perceived mismatch.

If only one component changes between lots, compare its material and decoration records. Do not compensate by changing another component informally. That can create a new mismatch when the original part returns to its prior appearance.

Control the commercial set

Specify whether components are supplied as matched sets or separately stocked items. Decide how mixed production lots will be managed where the assembled relationship matters. A low price on independent caps can lose value if manual matching becomes necessary at the filler.

Keep the approved assembly reference protected and identified, with a process for replacing damaged or aged masters. Review changes to resin, colorant, coating, metal finish, and decoration source. The final purchasing standard should let both supplier and receiver make the same appearance decision without relying on memory, a phone screen, or a general instruction to match the brand color.

KEEP THIS WITH THE SAMPLE

For your buying brief

  • Approve the assembled color relationship.
  • Separate shade, gloss, and texture.
  • Plan how mixed component lots will be handled.
